The site needed a facelift as well as help differentiating itself from the typically sleepy, overly technical sites out there. The new site now better portrays the type of clients they work for, the services offered and successful case studies.

BAMMD Multimedia Design Exhibition

BAMMD allows industry professionals and the general public to see the creative works emerging from the 2011 graduating class at Curtin University Perth Western Australia. It is held annually to give students the opportunity to network with both professionals and others interested in their work.

The Solution

The site design was conceived by the talented Tom Leenders. We collaborated and I completed the development side of the site. As the exhibition is aimed at web professionals it allowed me to experiment with HTML5 + CSS3 and in particular CSS animations.

Three [university]

Three is a website for creative 3D Artists to upload works in progress of current work, concepts, wireframes and test renders to receive criticism, comments, suggestions as well as general feedback.

The Brief

Honing in on the idea of creating a folio site for 3D artists, this is a place for 3D artists to upload their work to be critiqued by specifically high end users; to then find better criticisms more easily, and in effect have a more efficient way of bettering a users own work.

The Solution

The concept of having criticisms from 'high end' users only is done on a simple ranking system; every comment made by a user is either liked or disliked by the community at large. The higher the ranking a users average comments receives means their critiques sit higher up on the users submitted work.

BEactive [university]

BEactive is an exercise tracking system with a social twist where users can use their current location (via GPS) and find people to go for a run or bike together, set challenges and initiate competitions to see who is the best.

The Brief

The BEactive project was an open brief from the Department of Sport and Recreation to be used as a university project, the brief was to create a new ‘killer app’ that could be used by the public to get interested in recreation again.

The Solution

With an open brief the direction of the project was completely up to me, I ended up creating an application that helped users find people or friends to exercise with. The project was a huge success and the Department loved the idea. It also gained me 100% and a free iPod.

Open Desks [university]

Open Desks is an application for freelancers in various fields looking for a place to work for the day. Open Desks allows the user to find a desk to work with in their own city, when on business in a foreign country or when people are looking for a change of scenery.

The Brief

Being a freelance artist often means you are in foreign areas and/or generally working alone, and as a result, are often in a less preferable work place.

The Solution

Open Desks provides a option for freelance artists to search for local areas to work. Having the ability to set up in a firm gives the artist a better atmosphere to work in; and also the option to be critiqued on their work, as they work.
